Hypnotherapy for Procrastination – Just Another Time Waster!

I know some hypnotherapists will **** me for saying this but hypnotherapy for procrastination is a total waste of time! I am sorry to those that believe this but people who procrastinate will look for any way to overcome their problem without them having to do anything about it and being hypnotized to suddenly transform your habits, fears, and poor time management is just another way to procrastinate and waste your time.

Every products or service involving hypnotism promises the world but delivers very little; it is a placebo for the gullible, the new magic pill cure for any modern “disease” you can name.

There are no easy solutions to breaking habits and stopping procrastination, instead you must take practical steps to change your lifestyle and the way you do things starting with developing good time management and often ending up looking deep within yourself and finding subconscious fears and barriers that need to be broken down before you can really achieve the life you want.

Here is a small list of common reasons for procrastination that you can see need more than hypnotherapy to overcome.

Fear of failure – Why try when you might fail!

Fear of success – I can’t handle the responsibility of success!

Poor time management skills – I just can’t find time to do anything!

Lack of direction in life – I don’t know where to put my efforts!

Lack of priorities – Smoking pot is so much more important than studying!

laziness – I just can’t be bothered …

Do you think a man with a candle or a swinging watch can solve these problems?

So please leave the hypnotherapy for procrastination in a dusty old box next to other quackery like leeching blood, shock therapy and exorcism and get real with your attempts to better yourself!

If you want practical ways to overcome any of the problems listed above then click below to find out real solutions to real problems without hypnotism or anything else that claims can solve all your problems without YOU putting in effort.

Hypnotherapy Hype: Can Hypnosis Help You?

Hypnotherapy is a fast growing method to modify or change behavior. People are using hypnosis for everything from weight loss and pain management to boosting self confidence and to stop smoking. Many people visit a qualified hypnotherapist to take advantage of the therapy, while others take advantage of self-hypnosis through the plethora of self-help resources available. While some people think that hypnosis is nothing but hype, if you want to change or modify your behavior or thoughts on a certain subject you may want to give hypnosis a try.

How Hypnosis Works

There are many different reasons hypnosis works. Our minds are very open to suggestions at all times and hypnosis creates a way for us to program ourselves with positive, empowering and uplifting information that can change our lives in powerful ways. There is no secret to hypnosis.

Here Are a Few Techniques Hypnosis Employs:

1) Relaxation: Most people are most receptive while sleeping or extremely relaxed. The hypnotherapist always asks if you are comfortable and undisturbed. If you use CD’s it is okay to fall asleep; our minds absorb more when we are sleeping.

2) Repetition: The more an idea is repeated, the more likely it will be accepted. Think about a TV commercial and how you are more likely to accept a new idea or product when you have seen a commercial fifty or sixty times over a course of several days.

3) Guided Imagery and Visualization: Everything begins in the mind and hypnosis finds a way to implant your mind with images you want, as opposed to the images you currently hold due to repeated patterns. For instance, you must imagine yourself as a non-smoker or a thinner person, before you can start acting in the ways that will bring this into reality.

4) Suggestions: Hypnosis is a way to suggest new ideas into the mind.

Seeing a Hypnotherapist

If you are seeking to try a hypnotherapist, you should make sure they have professional qualifications. There are many different schools and trainings for hypnotherapy and doing your homework in this area will really pay off in the long run. Ask questions. Find out how much they charge, what to expect when you are hypnotized, how long each session will last, how many sessions you will you need and how long the therapist has been in practice. Try to choose a hypnotherapist with a good reputation who has been in practice for a while. Shop around. Most importantly, you will want to have a feeling of trust between yourself and your hypnotherapist. Does this person make you feel at ease? Do you feel safe with him? Do you like his personality and feel that you can trust him with your mind?

Self-Hypnosis: Tapes, CD’s and MP3’s

While seeing a hypnotherapist is a great idea, it is cheaper and more accessible to try hypnotizing yourself. Hypnosis can be self-administered by using online downloads, MP3’s, tapes, or CD’s. Whether you are looking to lose weight, stop smoking, gain social confidence, or curb anxiety, there are a wide variety of resources and products on the market. Hypnosis products can be tried at night upon going to bed. They can also be a great way to wake up in the morning to start your day on a positive note. For the price of one hypnotherapy session, you can buy several different self-hypnosis products to start changing your own mind right away on a host of different subjects. Never listen to hypnosis CD’s while driving your car.

Cure Your Fear of Bridges with Hypnotherapy

rational fear or phobia of crossing bridges is really not that uncommon

Individuals who have this particular fear experience enormous anxiety when confronted with the prospect of having to cross a bridge. High bridges with steep drops are especially frightening, as are bridges over water or gorges.

Often, though not always, this fear may also be combined with other fears such as the fear of heights or claustrophobia.

The individual suffering from gephyrophobia may be fearful that they will lose control or faint.

Fear tends to breed fear and this process can all too easily lead on to feelings of real panic.

Many people who suffer from this particular phobia go to great lengths so that they can avoid crossing bridges. Often they go to great pains to plan their travels so that they do not have to cross over a bridge.

What has happened is that at a deep, subconscious level, the bridge phobic has learned to associate anxiety with the thought of crossing bridges. In all probability, at some time in their past, he or she will have undergone an experience that caused fear and they subconsciously linked this feeling with bridges.

It is as if the person has somehow stopped trusting themselves when it comes to driving over or crossing bridges. And the subconscious is triggering feelings of fear so that he or she will not put themselves in danger.

As far as the conscious mind is concerned, of course, it may be only too clear that such fears are groundless. They may even seem silly. But fear is a feeling, an emotion, and the conscious mind is governed more by logic than feeling.

No matter how hard they might try, the phobic individual is usually powerless to analyze or ‘think away’ their fear.

Fear, like all emotions and feelings, is produced in the subconscious mind and it is in the subconscious mind that the solution lies.

Through the expert use of modern advanced hypnotherapy, we can delve into the subconscious mind and re-educate it. We can readjust and realign it with reality, so that the gephyrophobic person can let go of the fear and return to their normal, natural state.

Even though the thought of driving over or crossing a bridge may seem too difficult for you to contemplate at the moment, the fact is that you can be helped to conquer your fear of bridges and cross them with ease and in the complete absence of anxiety.

Working with a fully qualified and experienced advanced transformational hypnotherapist, you can once again return to the freedom that is your birthright.

Ridiculous Suppositions About Weight Loss With Hypnotherapy

Posthypnotic suggestion, thanks to movies and TV shows, the very word conjures up the impression of a beady-eyed hypno-technician swinging a watch and droning the words, “You are getting sleepy.”

Do a Google search, and you will find millions of web pages focused on the subject, especially weight loss hypnosis. Unfortunately, many websites that sell recorded hypnosis programs for weight loss make wild, unsubstantiated affirmations. I’ve been in professional practice since 1978. So I think that I’m more than competent to set the record straight on weight loss hypnosis.

First of all, hypnotic suggestion is a tool, just like a scalpel is a tool. Just as assorted surgeons have diversified skill levels in the use of a scalpel, varying hypnotists have assorted there are many remarkable forms of hypnosis.

Here are just a couple of the wild suppositions about weight loss hypnosis that I’ve seen on websites, along with the truth of the matter:

“Hypnosis for weight loss will speed up your metabolism.” If you want to know the total truth, the fact of the matter is that weight loss hypnosis can’t directly speed up your metabolism. But it can be very functional at helping to program your subconscious with increased motivation to exercise, and exercise can increase your metabolism. Similarly, hypnotherapy to speed up the metabolism for quick weight loss can be effected by programming the subconscious to motivate the intake of increased amounts of protein, because that intake will step up your metabolic rate.

Posthypnotic suggestion will make you shed some weight. This is false. But weight loss hypnosis can be used to help delete your appetite, so that you eat less, and eating less can help you to drop a few pounds.

The average person’s appetite and urges are caused by two subconscious programs:

A. When you pair eating with any other behavior, the other behavior will trigger cravings for food and a compulsion to eat. This is called a conditioned response. For example, if you eat while you drive, you will automatically get an urge to eat each time you drive your car.

B. When you feel tense, you feel a strong urge to put food into your mouth for relaxation. This is the result of training that you received as an infant. When you got crabby, your mom or dad put a bottle in your mouth. You got distracted, relaxed, and probably fell asleep. Now when you get cranky (anxious or tense), you feel compelled to put something into your mouth for relaxation and pleasure.

C. There is a third unconscious program that is present for some people. It’s called emotional eating. Emotional eating takes place when an individual is motivated to make him or herself fat, because by being fat they will protect themselves in some way.

For example, if a subject got their heart broken in a relationship, their unconscious will usually force them into a behavior that would prevent them from getting their heart broken again. Example: They are motivated to become overweight to keep them out of new relationships, because that will clear out the possibility of another broken heart.

D. I have written several articles on hypnosis for weight loss and compulsive overeating that are available on my website. There are some very effective ways to use hypnotic suggestion to reduce or overcome emotional eating.

So just how can weight loss hypnotherapy fix the above problems? Let’s cover them one at a time.

In paragraph “A” above: Conditioned responses can be “wiped out” easily using a course that I call the “Flash.” The flash trains the unconscious mind to setup a new set of triggers. In the above example, the subject had unconsciously banded together the depiction of food in the hand, with the TV. Each time he / she sat down to watch the TV, the unconscious mind filled in the missing part of the depiction: It “Flashed” the image of the food in the hand, and the subject felt an urge, and a craving to eat.

The Flash is a mode of operation we use to program the subconscious to use the visualization of the TV as a trigger for an impression of yourself watching TV without eating. When we lose the depiction of the food, we lose the cravings.

When we momentarily disassociate (see ourselves from the point of view that another person would), we are not able to sense our feelings (cravings and urges).

When we see ourselves in an activity (watching TV without eating), we feel a strong compulsion to generate that behavior. So the subject loses the cravings, and actually gets a compulsion to reject food.

In paragraph “B” above: The subject is eating and drinking for relaxation and pleasure. We teach the subject self-hypnosis for weight loss, because the very essence of the hypnotic state is deep relaxation.

And we utilize the “Flash” to program the unconscious to use the mental pictures that are triggering feelings of annoyance and aggravation, as triggers for secondary mental images and thoughts that will trigger feelings of relaxation. When the subject feels more relaxed overall, oral urges are greatly diminished.

In paragraph “C” above: We discussed emotional eating which makes the person overweight. The “behavior” of being overweight then provides some sort of emotional protection. So we use a mode of operation called an NLP Six-Step Reframe for weight loss, which programs the unconscious to be responsible for making the subject automatically substitute some other larger acceptable behavior that will provide the same emotional protection, in place of being overweight. And that reframe will delete the craving to eat for emotional purposes.

Self-hypnosis for weight loss can be a very powerful method. I can only uncover the tip of the iceberg in this short characterization. Please see my website for larger comprehensive articles and information.

At the bottom of the staircase there is a door… and I don’t know what colour the door is, or whether the handle is brass or wooden… because this is your door. As you reach out and touch the handle… now… perhaps you can already begin to feel just how warm it is… and you can allow yourself to let that warmth spread from your fingertips… along your arm… and over your body… feeling, now, that something important lies beyond this door. You can pause for a moment to enjoy this sensation… and now opening the door, just a little… letting your eyes adjust to the warming light beyond… and as your eyes begin to adjust, you can find yourself… in a long corridor… with full-length mirrors mounted along the entire length of its walls… and I don’t know if the walls are painted a particular colour, or whether the floor here is carpeted or wooden… because this is your corridor. Walking slowly past the first mirror you can see now how distorts a part of your body… and now… moving past the second mirror… that too distorts a different part of your body… and you can continue along the corridor… now… noticing the way each mirror gives a different reflection of you. Continuing along the corridor… perhaps you can see one mirror in particular… one that looks different somehow… perhaps the frame is a different colour… or pattern… and as you look at it now… you’re aware of that warmth over your body once more. This is the mirror you have been looking for. You can walk to that mirror now… and as you stand in front of it you can see the reflection of your ideal self… looking the way you want to look… thinking the way you want to think… feeling the way you want to feel… behaving the way you want to behave. And your reflection is smiling back at you. As she holds out her hands… you can take a step forward… into the mirror… and suddenly you’re in the mirror… inside your ideal self… looking through her eyes… you can look down and see your ideal self… looking the way you want to look… and how wonderful it feels… to feel the way you want to feel… and you can smile at your old self… who now smiles back at you from the corridor. There’s another door to the side of you… and behind the door is the life you want to lead. Perhaps it’s a situation you have imagined… or a perfect place to be your ideal self. You can go there now… opening the door… and stepping through. And you can take all the time you need to really experience yourself… looking the way you want to look… thinking the way you want to think… feeling the way you want to feel… behaving the way you want to behave. Genuine… authentic… feeling the wonderful calmness that comes with being yourself. And in your own time you can step back through the door… back to the reflection of your old self… and describe to her the things you have seen… the way you have felt… and the things she must now do… the commitments she must make… the strength that she must have… to reach this place. You can allow yourself to reach out now… embrace your old self… and feel the warmth of the special bond you share. Stepping into the corridor now… you can be surprised that as you look through the eyes of your old self again… your thoughts… your feelings… your behaviour remains as though you are your ideal self. And just as the memory of this experience will stay with you long after you leave this place… so too will you continue to think… to feel… and to behave as your ideal self… with all the strength… all the commitment you need… to do what you need to do.

If you are thinking about becoming a hypnotherapist please take time to research the type of accreditation and quality of tuition you will receive. Attending a well-recognised hypnotherapy training course is essential if you want to ensure you are safe and competent to practice.

Self Hypnosis And Hypnotherapy: An Article For Therapists

For me Self Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy go hand in hand when I am treating clients. I see them as completely complementary of each other and a must for greater success and empowerment of the client.

Each and every client that starts Hypnotherapy with me first learns that art of Self-Hypnosis. This doesn’t mean that they get a tape or a cd to listen to, but they actually learn the process without the need for any recordings.

This is REAL empowerment.

My theory is that if a client comes for smoking and in a few years time they are struggling to lose a few pounds, they shouldn’t have to turn back to me, but use their new skill of Self Hypnosis to tackle it themselves.

My other goal is to get a client to a place where they feel that THEY have made the change – thus allowing them to be their own hero and not me. This is so important as with this attitude they begin to take charge and begin achieving even more great goals in their lives.

So how do you teach Self Hypnosis in just fifty minutes so that they client goes away feeling confident and motivated to practice?

First I do Chevreul’s pendulum and explain how there is a mind/body connection. So as we imagine our bodies relaxing that they will just relax the same way that the pendulum swings when we imagine it doing so. This is an inevitable response and will always occur if done correctly.

Then after this I may sometimes do a short ‘eyes closure’ induction and then the sway test all while standing with the client. This really confirms to them the connection between mind and body as they can actually feel the relaxation in their eyes and body.

Then I would have the client sit in the chair and do a short landscape induction. This is something that I have created and added to each client’s induction to help with imagination. Unfortunately I can’t cover this process all here as it would take too long.

After this I use the Self-Change Hypnosis induction, which has three key elements and then onto the post hypnotic suggestions.

I take about twenty minutes to do this.

Then I encourage the client to do the first element of the Self-Change Hypnosis induction for themselves and I do the rest, thus allowing them to experience Hypnosis for a second time in the same session. Then after that we do a third round of Hypnosis with the client doing the whole of the Self-Change Hypnosis induction and giving themselves some post hypnotic suggestions.

Using the Self-Change Hypnosis means that if is foolproof for the client to learn.

Well I hope that you have enjoyed this article and have gotten something from it.

Treating Ibs With Hypnotherapy

In bygone days, few people had ever heard of IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome

In those times, IBS was most often referred to as ‘spastic colon’ and it was a mystery to all but a few perceptive specialist practitioners who intuitively identified its psychological component.

Now, however, it is widely accepted that Irritable Bowel Syndrome, if not caused by emotions, is indeed greatly influenced by them.

Moreover, it is believed that as much as 20% of the general population experience this worrying and uncomfortable condition.

After all, when we are feeling stressed or troubled, anxious, uptight, angry or with any other unresolved emotional issue gnawing away at us, then it’s often our digestion – or our skin – that is the first to suffer.

Generally speaking, the most common symptoms of IBS include, but are not restricted to, stomach and abdominal pain, feeling bloated, constipation and/or diarrhoea and abnormal stool frequency and passage.

The usual medical response to IBS symptoms is to prescribe drugs and pharmaceuticals in an attempt to get things back in order, and these very often include anti-depressants and tranquilizers intended to alleviate the symptoms of this troublesome condition.

From the perspective of the experienced holistic practitioner, though, Irritable Bowel Syndrome is simply the body’s call for help; it is a cry to action in order to address the underlying reasons for its existence.

This being the case, it is crucial that we understand that Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a message – or, more correctly perhaps, a series of messages – designed to grab our attention so that we do something about the reason for the existence of these symptoms.

In fact, the symptoms are a clear call to action.

In any treatment of IBS, we need to re-appraise what we put into our bodies, with coffee, chocolate, carbonated beverages and red meat either eliminated entirely or consumed only in small quantities.

We may, of course, choose to re-introduce some of these things at a later time, when the IBS has been taken care of and when we can objectively observe and monitor the results of doing this. Or perhaps we will decide that we are better served by permanently eliminating these things and simply enjoying the many other delicious foods and beverages available to us.

Soluble fibre, which can be purchased at most health food or drug stores in the convenient form of psyllium husks has also been shown to be of help with this condition, though such supplementation is not advised when chronic diarrhoea is present.

But it’s the emotions that really need to be treated in order to bring about real and lasting relief for IBS.

Emotional and mental tension, stress, anger, guilt, or any other negative emotion can so easily stimulate intestinal spasms which may produce and intensify the condition.

Indeed, it is the emotions – and the influence of our own mind over our emotions – that really holds the key to true IBS relief. And it is here that properly conducted transformational hypnotherapy can prove so effective.

With expertly applied transformational hypnotherapy, the drivers and negative concepts generated by the subconscious mind can be neutralized and replaced with more useful and helpful ones.

The simple fact is that irritable bowel syndrome will not disappear overnight. Yet even long-term sufferers of this truly troublesome condition can accomplish real improvement and a feeling of overall well being. And this, needless to say, is a sound basis for any long term cure of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

If you or someone you know suffers from the troublesome condition known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS, real help is available.

Advanced transformational hypnotherapy may very well hold the solution that you are looking for.

Free Hypnotherapy Scripts

Using Google analytics People Building have been able to observe the information that people have typed into their search engine to find out about the NLP and Hypnotherapy trainings and resources we provide.

Currently, the page on our website which is viewed the most, is the page which contains our hypnosis scripts. Some of the Hypnosis scripts are free, and others that are more complex are reasonably expensive, and of course, you get what you pay for.

We are a company that provides Hypnotherapy training, and use hypnosis on the whole for therapeutic purposes only, so it is interesting to discover that the word “hypnosis” feature as a more popular keyword than the word “hypnotherapy.”

However, our hypnosis induction scripts could be used for both a hypnotist performing a stage show and a hypnotherapist who is using hypnosis for therapeutic purposes.

Personally, I prefer to use hypnosis scripts in the work I do. There is still, sadly, much confusion about hypnosis and its levels of safety. I have found it gives reassurance to my clients if they know that I have already thought about what I am going to say to them whilst in trance and that I then make a note of the script that I used on their personal file- so that if necessary, I can refer back to the work I have done with them.

It is easy to understand how myths and misconceptions have evolved from the use of hypnosis, it is to this day, a phenomena that we still do not fully understand. Just the other day an old friend called me from the days when I was working full time with children. When I told her about the job I am doing now she told me about a time when her son, then aged about 7 years old, accidentally temporarily paralyzed his cousins legs by inducing a hypnotic trance. He had been watching the famous television hypnotist, Paul McKenna and was inspired to try out the hypnotic skills. Understandably, the whole experience was a little surprising for the children and their mother, and gave them the impression that hypnosis is a force not to be tampered with. Of course, amongst sensible adults this is not the case. Hypnosis can be a very useful and safe way to make changes and listening to a hypnosis download can be a gentle introduction.

That is why we have made each of our available hypnosis scripts, into a downloadable MP3 hypnosis audio, which can be posted to you in CD format, or downloaded to your pc as an MP3. There is a vast range of hypnotherapy resources including, eliminating fear of flying hypnosis scripts, quit stop smoking scripts, nail biting scripts and confidence scripts.

In addition to the scripts we have, you can also request scripts that we do not yet have or you may like to learn how to write hypnosis scripts by downloading our e-book “How to create excellent hypnosis scripts.”

Hypnotherapy & Nlp

Hypnosis is a trance or sleep like state of the mind, and in this state the individual is open to suggestions and directions, and the mind being in a relaxed state is focused and clear. Hypnotherapy is successfully used to address various problems like addiction to tobacco and alcohol, obesity, insomnia, relief from pain and various kinds of phobias and complexes. People grapple with problems and fears in their day to day life and certain phobias like fear of flying, fear of crowded places, fear of insects etc. can complicate life and can cause much embarrassment. Hypnotherapy is a method to relax the mind and shift focus from the particular issue, and over the sessions the therapy can invoke mental and physical changes, and train the mind to deal better with tensions.

The state of hypnosis differs from sleep as the person can hear the therapist during the session. The mind is focused, though peripheral awareness is low, and the Alpha brain wave level which is low during sleep is found to be high during hypnosis. Hypnotizability varies from person from person, and it is found that the level does not change over a period of time. Those with high level of hypnotizability are good subjects as they are more open to suggestions, and they change easily for the better. However high level of hypnotizability is not the same thing as submissiveness, and good subjects are found to be strong, imaginative and independent individuals. The state of hypnosis can be self induced, or can be brought about by a therapist, and generally during the process the focus is shifted from the present place and time to another place and time to facilitate the therapy. Mind, body and spirit together work in this process.

Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP is a method of inducing self talk and thereby creating a positive attitude in the person. This method exploits the way neurology and language comes together to create experience. Brain is always giving you messages, and self talk always goes on, but only if this talk is positive can one realize his goals. Though in most of them positive self talk is an instinctive phenomenon, it has to be inculcated in those with a pessimistic bent of mind. NLP help you to handle failures better, and assists you handle the impediments in your way to success, as it influences the process of thought and understanding in an individual and thereby the behavior. NLP is a way to self exploration, communicating the spiritual side, and the discovery of a new, much better person altogether.

Sometimes the cause of a particular phobia or complex is not apparent, and could be the result of a thought embedded in the sub-consciousness. An insecurity of the childhood could become manifest as the fear of flying, and addressing this insecurity and shifting focus from it through hypnotherapy can root out the cause of the fear, and help the individual gain confidence to board a plane. In many cases solving an obvious problem can solve many other smaller problems, and improve the quality of life in general.

Hypnotherapy and NLP provide you with practical tools and skills which help you achieve your ambitions and goals, both in life and business.
