About Hypnotherapy

The science of hypnotherapy is thousands of years old, the earliest recorded evidence dating back to the ancient Egyptians and Hebrews.

During the 18th Century, hypnotherapy as a modern science began to develop, primarily through the work of a medical doctor called Franz Mesmer (from which we get the term “mesmerised”).

Now, in the 21st Century, hypnotherapy has evolved immensely and has become firmly established as a primary health science alongside psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

Hypnosis is an increasingly popular and medically accepted form of complementary therapy. Medical students at Cambridge University and other medical training centres now receive training in hypnosis as part of their studies.

In essence, hypnosis allows us to access probably the most powerful part of the mind, the ‘subconscious’. It is the subconscious that is responsible for most of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Through access to the subconscious, we are able to make powerful, positive changes which create rapid improvements for an individual.

EFT & NLP

Peter’s unique programme, which combines the latest cutting edge techniques in Hypnosis, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Therapy) can allow you to experience change in a safe and supportive way.

NLP is a range of techniques to help deal with unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour (some totally unconscious) and to help introduce new and constructive ways to improve your life.

EFT is the combination of hypnotic language with acupuncture but without the needles! It helps to loosen and in some cases totally clear deep-seated emotional and physical issues.

With the addition of EFT and NLP, all part of the ‘hypnotherapy’ process, Peter is more able to effectively help his clients become free of their debilitating conditions and regain control of their lives.
