Eft: Help Gain Freedom From the Fear of Public Speaking

You know the signs, knots in your stomach, sweaty palms, clammy skin, rapid respirations…. all revolving around your having to speak before a group of people.

Perhaps it is just your office staff, or maybe you have to present a report to your co-workers.

It doesn’t matter whether the number of people you must speak before is three or 300, you still feel the same fear and anxiety.

Many of us have experienced these “jitters” or a sensation known as “butterflies” when we have had to speak in front of a group of people. Generally, our first time doing so was more than likely while we were in elementary school. Unfortunately, this fear did not stop there. It has followed us through our life. It has accompanied us throughout our entire education right into the job market. It even has an official title these days, if you will, and is more commonly known as the fear of public speaking.

For some, speaking in front of others can present a huge problem. They may experience various levels of discomfort ranging in intensity from butterflies in the stomach to full blown panic.

Thanks to a wonderful new technique known as EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques, no one need suffer any such negative emotion such as the fear of public speaking. EFT was developed by Gary Craig, a Stanford Engineering graduate and ordained minister. It is based on the ancient practice of acupuncture however, instead of using needles to activate the acupressure meridians, they are activated using gentle pressure or tapping.

EFT is an experimental technique that has shown great results. It is beginning to be used by therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and various medical doctors around the world as part of their treatment plans. However, EFT should not be used instead of the conventional treatment you may already be receiving. If you are currently under a doctor’s care, let them know you are interested in adding EFT to your treatment regimen and get their advice before going ahead on your own.

Gary Craig understood that the cause of all negative emotions was due to a disruption in the body’s energy system. Thus, by correcting this disruption, EFT allows you to be free from fears, phobias, anxieties, self-limiting beliefs, etc., easily and painlessly.

EFT is easy to learn and can be used to treat a variety of issues. I have been using EFT on myself as well as with my coaching clients for quite some time and have yet to come across an issue that it has not worked on.

When using EFT for a specified issue such as the fear of public speaking, one of the key elements is to zero in on the emotions or feelings the person associates with this issue. For instance, they may state they have the fear of being laughed at or of losing their train of thought. By tuning into these specific emotions and addressing them one by one, the discomfort the person feels surrounding the issue of public speaking is generally greatly reduced after just a few rounds of tapping. Often these feelings are totally gone after just one session of EFT.

I am an EFT practitioner with the designation of EFT-ADV, having received my advanced certificate of completion after passing the advanced EFT examination. As an EFT practitioner, I work with my coaching clients, instructing them on how to effectively use EFT in as little as one to three sessions. If you are someone who likes to learn by themselves, Gary Craig offers the basic manual as a free download on his website at www.emofree.com. Once you learn the basic recipe, you can work on many issues for yourself. Gary’s site also offers a wealth of articles on EFT. For easy reference, I have an EFT Tapping Points guide that is available as a free download on my usinglawofattraction.com website where you can also find additional information and articles on EFT.

So, the next time you experience those “jitters” or “butterflies” why not contact an EFT coach or practitioner? It is a wonderful thing to be free from anxiety and have the choice to do a particular event or not instead of being held captive by fear, doubt or anxiety. The choice is completely up to you. As for me and my clients, we choose freedom, Emotional Freedom that is!

Wishing you the best of success, always!

Hypnotherapy a Victim of Tall Tales

Misconceptions about hypnotherapy are common, even among clients who attend hypnotherapy Edinburgh. Most likely, this misunderstanding originates from the mostly unethical use of hypnosis as a form of entertainment on stages and television. Hypnosis used in this way has led to many a myth such as only gullible people can be hypnotized and hypnosis can make you lose control or go mad. Whilst it appears that people on such shows seem to be under the control of the hypnotist, they are not. Rather, they are suggestible and willing to play along with the hypnotist (within reason, a person wouldn’t carry out an act they strongly disagreed with). They are also likely to be responding to social pressure and expectations of the audience.

So what Is Hypnosis and How Is It Used in Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a state characterized by intense relaxation and heightened awareness or focus. Relaxing in this way allows the mind to become detached from everyday worries and hassles (a bit like having a good fantasy!). Hypnotherapists agree that whilst you are relaxed during the hypnotic state, it is possible to access the unconscious part of your mind in order to creatively find solutions to problems. This is possible because your analytical, critical, anxious conscious mind can be bypassed. Whilst in a relaxed hypnotic state the unconscious mind can respond in an open and curious way to imagery and suggestion.

Hypnosis is a state that allows you to focus and concentrate. Hypnotherapy, Edinburgh uses this state to allow you to let positive changes happen as opposed to trying to make them happen consciously. Hypnotherapy enables you to solve problems, reduce stress, change habits and achieve aims.

I am a mental health professional and I use hypnotherapy Edinburgh as a tool to empower people who find that their conscious attempts to solve a problem are not working. Using hypnotherapy, can enable you to understand and overcome problems that are outside of conscious awareness. For some, this method is far more effective then trying to use willpower alone.

So What Is Hypnosis And Hypnotherapy Not?

1. Hypnosis is not sleep but an intense relaxed state in which you are fully aware. Therefore there is no risk of you not waking up as your not asleep.

2. Hypnosis is not mind control, the hypnotherapist will guide you but cannot make you act against your will.

3. Hypnosis is not for gullible people. Anyone that wants to be hypnotized can be. It is only difficult to hypnotize someone who is scared of hypnosis or who doesn’t really want to be hypnotized.

4. Hypnotherapy is not a magical treatment that works instantly. Often you will require several sessions to learn to relax and to work through your problem. It is not instant.

5. Hypnosis cannot make you divulge private information that you want to keep to yourself. You will only share with your therapist what you want to.

For some people, hypnotherapy can be an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable method for making changes and learning to relax. It would be a shame to let tall tales about hypnotherapy put you off from finding out more about this treatment and how it may be able to help you.

Karen is a hypnotherapist Edinburgh and used Hypnotherapy to empower people to find creative solutions to difficulties. Hypnotherapy, Edinburgh is also a great way of managing stress and learning to relax. Visit http://www.karenhastings.co.uk.

EFT Works For Eliminating Phobias

Emotional freedom techniques or EFT works for the immediate and permanent elimination of various phobias. Many EFT practitioners have cured all sorts of phobias of people who have battled with it for years or all their lives.

The EFT in solving phobias involve redirecting the old thought patterns or response mechanisms of phobic people to the thing or situation they have a phobia about and basically creating a new set of more useful patterns or mechanisms of behavior to replace the old phobic response.

Thousands of testimonies from people who have been cured of their phobias have spread the word about the success of EFT. There were even known instances of phobias being cured in a single EFT session only.

In fact, EFT can be used as a self-help treatment for phobia. There are online or printed resources that offers step-by-step guide on how to cure phobias successfully in self -help treatment. At one point, you still need to learn the EFT from an expert or practitioner via courses, trainings or, studying manuals or video presentations. You cannot rely on your own because phobias are complicated and intense emotional and psychological conditions, thus proper training is necessary.

Then the process of facing one’s fear will begin. This is not as simple as it sounds since people with phobic response cannot even think about or even verbalized the object of their fear as it gives them extreme stress, anxiety or, fear. This process should not be forced under any circumstances. Phobic people should not be forced to face their fears. It should be done comfortably, gently, and in the most natural way. Each person should progress following their own timeframe, it differs for everyone.

Likewise, there is a different starting point for every person, it is not uniform. The important thing is that the person is relaxed or comfortable enough so that the process of eliminating his or her phobia can start. There has to be acceptance that despite the phobic condition, the person is loved or the he or she loves himself or herself. Eventually, the fear or fright will be replaced by curiosity and there will be lesser resistance and anxiety.

When this happens, the actual process of phobia elimination begins. It entails distancing one’s self from the object of phobia. Most of the time, the phobia is actually a direct or indirect effect of a stressful situation. So the underlying causes need to be identified and uncovered.

EFT has cured all types of phobias including anthrophobia (fear of people), agoraphobia (fear of heights), arachnophobia (fear of spiders), astraphobia (fear of stars and celestial space), claustrophobia (fear of enclosed efforts), dentophobia (fear of dentist), dystychiphobia (fear of accidents), enochlophobia (fear of crowds), felinophobia (fear of cats), genophobia (fear of sex), hematophobia (fear of blood), insectophobia (fear of insects), koniophobia (fear of dust), lygophobia (fear of darkness), monophobia (fear of solitude or being alone), nosocomephobia (fear of hospitals), onomatophobia (fear of hearing a certain word or names), ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), ochlophobia (fear of crowds or mobs), pharmacophobia (fear of taking medicine), parturiphobia (fear of childbirth), pteromerhanophobia (fear of flying), pyrophobia (fear of fire), tachophobia (fear of speed), theatrophobia (fear of theaters) and even the so called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia (fear of long words).

The most effective technique available today i.e. EFT for overcoming fears and eliminating phobias.Start realizing soon being healthy for lifetime, just do watch this eft dvd and meet your eft practitioner.

Hypnotherapy Programs – Topics of Study

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a counseling hypnotherapist, then enrolling in one of several hypnotherapy programs may be right for you. Currently, there are well over 20 approved hypnotherapy programs throughout the United States and in Canada; and because hypnotherapy is growing in popularity (facilitated in weight loss, quitting smoking and other behavior modification programs), now is the opportune time to explore the many facets of this commonly misunderstood counseling technique.

Generally, hypnotherapy programs range in training hours, but usually include practical training in clinical hypnosis, regression therapy, counseling, inner child retrieval, and coaching techniques. Learning the fundamentals of therapeutic hypnosis, students enrolled in more comprehensive hypnotherapy programs gain knowledge about brain wave activity, altered states, and anatomy of the mind, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), self-hypnosis, guided imagery, visualization techniques, emotional clearing methods, and much more.

In most cases, graduates of hypnotherapy programs may earn a diploma and become certified in hypnosis; and upon successfully completing a minimum of 300 training hours, and passing the exam administered by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners (ACHE), candidates earn the title of certified Hypnotherapist.

Furthermore, there is a number of advanced hypnotherapy programs designed for the professional hypnotherapist in mind. These courses often cover in-depth NLP techniques, as well as supplementary studies in past-life regression, and clinical hypnotherapy, among other subject matter.

Those who have become certified through one of a number of approved hypnotherapy programs can go onto providing individual consultations/private sessions, weight loss and quitting-smoking seminars, or simply help individuals by providing self-hypnosis techniques to improve overall wellbeing – mind, body and spirit. If you’re ready to make a difference in your own life, and in the lives of others, perhaps a course in hypnosis is something you might be interested in pursuing.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding hypnotherapy programs, let professional training within fast-growing industries like natural healing, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore hypnotherapy programs near you.

Battling Weight Issues and EFT as Life-Changing

You might find yourself exclaiming every so often, “I am doing every means to lose weight, exercise, and comply with a famous dieting program yet, it seems that it’s not working out well”. What have you probably missed? You might have been focusing on other matters apart from working out as you continue to rant and complain of not losing weight and miss out on providing yourself a kind of mental disposition that will further aid in losing weight than in making it even more on the weighty side.

The Power of Emotional Freedom Techniques to Weight Loss

Although this might send confusing messages to people who have not been in familiar terms with what EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques is, weight loss have significantly been one of the main targets of this kind of mind stimulation technique. As you either think or talk about the problem during sessions or the time you perform EFT, you will notice that as you deal and experience the problem yourself, you make way for self resolution. As you perceive that what you are doing is the proper way to lose weight, you will lose significant pounds after regular rounds of working out. The likelihood of attaining favorable and desired results will be met without having to generate extensive measures to shed those bulges.

Possibilities of Losing Weight through EFT

It is possible to lose weight through EFT because you make it happen. A lot of people fail to give themselves the right results they aspire since they do not eliminate the maladies to sort out on its own. People basically overreact to things and find themselves bothered and troubled about their weight issues until this provides major stress to a person. When stress transpires, you put too much pressure on yourself and as an end result, weight loss is not attained.

Procedures of EFT

EFT is done through series of sessions reliant on the exigency and necessity to eliminate the issue to a person bearing it. EFT allows going back to the problem of weight issues and tap meridian lines as you monitor yourself the issues you yearn to resolve and alter. First off, a person will be asked to either, make a statement, think of the experience or write down the issue. It is through these forms of medium that you begin to unwrap and lay yourself open to change. Afterwards, you will be asked to evaluate your weight issue through the level of impact on your part and determine the intensity it has on you. Finally, tap those weight issues through acupuncture points and see how you deal with the problems subsequently.

Goodbye Body Fats, Welcome EFT

Believing will play a big part in making EFT a success. Although belief does not have to do with you attaining what you wish for, however, training your mind to think in such a way that helps you avoid unhelpful self talk will certainly make way for the release of good hormones making you happy in your triumphing over weight issues and an overall state of happiness and contentment that only EFT can provide.

Ready to Lose Your Belly Fat ? You can get eft with no pain and begin unwrapping yourselves open to changes. For all your problems, get well known and trusted techniques with lots of options , just do watch this eft dvd and meet your eft practitioner

What They Don’t Tell You About Hypnotherapy Training – the Inside Track

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve heard about this technique and that technique that students have learnt on their hypnotherapy course. However, do these techniques make them good therapists? Of course they don’t.

Most hypnotherapy training classes rely far too much on a myriad of techniques that the students in turn come to rely on. The belief is set up that there is a particular technique to solve a particular problem. Nothing could be further from the truth. In point of fact most techniques when adapted and personalised can be used to resolve most problems.

The trouble with most hypnotherapy training is that the student tries desperately to match the client’s issue to the techniques they have learnt. This is a totally ineffectual way of training hypnotherapy students, and leads to ineffectual hypnotherapists. Hypnotherapy students need educating in how to THINK like a therapist, not training in how to ACT like a therapist.

To be an effective hypnotherapist you need to understand what a client’s subconscious is trying to achieve with the problem behaviour. Until this puzzle is solved the hypnotherapist will have little or no chance of resolving the problem, no matter what technique they use.  Therefore a deep understanding of the motivations and perceptions of the subconscious as they relate to the client is not only important but also critical to the education of the therapist. Any hypnotherapy course that does not take account of these needs is training the student to fail.

The training environment is another area where many hypnotherapy training schools fall down. Quite often the training is conducted in a single room where all the practical work is done as well. This is obviously not conducive to a genuine therapeutic environment, or for the concentration of either party involved. I have heard of training schools who conduct their lectures in hotel rooms and the practise sessions are sometimes held in the bar or public areas; always ask the question before embarking on a hypnotherapy course, and if it is being held in a hotel be cautious.

I have been particularly astonished to learn that some so-called hypnotherapy training is conducted in mega auditoriums, with several hundred students being asked to practice their therapeutic skills in the middle of the auditorium with so called ‘assistants’ offering impromptu advice to maybe 20 or 30 people; the noise was described as being akin to a hall full of turkeys gobbling in nervous anticipation just before Christmas. On the upside I have heard it is a good place to meet future clients, as most people arrive calm and go home nervous wrecks. It brings a new meaning to the concept of ‘touch’ therapy. Obviously having proper breakout rooms where the students can work one to one is far more professional, and allows the students to get the maximum out of the practicals.

Another important area is preparing the future hypnotherapist to deal with ‘real’ clients. With most hypnotherapy training schools the first ‘real’ client the student will encounter is after they are handed their diploma and told, “Congratulations, you have passed”. The first client a hypnotherapist sees is a very nerve wracking time. The client will not have been screened to ensure their suitability etc; so when you take a nervous hypnotherapist, an unknown client in an unsupervised environment, it is a recipe for disaster. I have known many a promising career halted at the start because of a very negative experience.

Paul Howard is a trainer and practising hypnotherapist at The Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy in Wallington, Surrey, UK. He can be contacted ve the website at www.sich.co.uk. The Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy run intensive and weekend diploma courses thoughout the year. Their courses are always done in small groups and the diploma is externally accredited by The National Council for Hypnotherapy – The premiere hypnotherapy governing body in the UK.

EFT For Public Speaking – Become an Adept and Confident Speaker Today

In the middle of the 1990s, a personal development coach used as reference another coach’s techniques to come up with his own. Roger Callahan’s techniques in Thought Field Therapy, or TFT, were studied thoroughly by his trainee Gary Craig, who later simplified said techniques in order to give birth to the now highly popular Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT.

TFT and EFT are alternative medicine tools or methods that aim to pacify negative disturbances that disrupt the body’s energies and cause disharmony in the mind, body, and spirit. The most substantial difference in the two doctors’ techniques is the emphasis on the sequence of tapping points in the former and the lack of special proprietary procedures in the latter. There are several articles on the two methods that explain them in great detail. This article, meanwhile, shows how EFT is used to help deal with the pressures of public speaking.

EFT for public speaking is now gaining more attention and patronage. EFT has proven successful in other aspects of human life, particularly in issues related to health, that loyal users of the method have gamely expressed their satisfaction and shown their continued support. Now, EFT adds another feature to its growing resume as a helpful means of overcoming public speaking fears.

There are some people that are born shy and cannot properly relay messages to a listening public, and then there are people that are simply horrified at the thought of having to speak in front of an audience that they even freeze or faint on the spot. Both groups of people can benefit a lot from EFT for public speaking – if they’d be willing to give it a try. The best way to convince people to use EFT to solve their public speaking problems is by showing them the importance of public speaking itself.

Public speaking is a must especially in the world of politics, show business, marketing, advertising, teaching, preaching, even parenting. Without public speaking, votes won’t be made, laws won’t be passed, nominations and recommendations won’t be earned, and ideas and values won’t be inculcated. Moreover, public speaking contributes to the maximum potential of a person’s communication skills. Communication, of course, is vital in the management of every personal relationship.

Proponents of EFT believe in its capacity to relieve a number of physical and psychological conditions that hinder a person’s development, including depression, phobias, addictions, anxiety, and general or everyday stress. Basic EFT for public speaking allows a person to hold securely in mind an emotion or a memory and, at the same time, use the fingers to perform a series of tapping in specific points in the body in order to release disturbing vibes that may be the trigger of his or her negative reaction or response towards speaking in front of an audience. Triggers may vary from a past embarrassing experience involving public speaking, a movie that contains humiliating public speaking scenes, and the like. With every session, the tapping increases, as well as the number of points tapped. EFT normally has three stages – the basic, mid-level, and advanced.

Overcome the Fear of Public Speaking with EFT ? I just think this could be really useful for public speaking and presentations, and overall improvement in our emotional health.Just do watch this eft dvd and get guidance from your eft practitioner.

What To Look For In An NLP And Hypnotherapy Training Provider

NLP and Hypnotherapy are big news. More and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of mastering the power of their own minds. Lets face it, there are infinite possibilities available to us in our lives and the more we open our minds, the more those possibilities bombard us and the more options we have. Long gone are the days of being hard wired to depression, of only doing and being what others say I must do or be, of going through life with feelings limited existence. You can do or be whatever you want to do or be, simply by mastering these skills.

But now, a new problem bestows us. Who will teach us? There are many so called teachers of these new-age subjects who have produced many so called masters in the subjects. However, having met some of them, I would say that there are students who are failing to learn, simply because the teachers fail to teach.

Finding a good NLP Trainer is by far the most important element here, and tips for finding the best can be found on our website and in previous articles. However, another factor in this process is finding a good training company. Here are some things you may like to consider when deciding which Hypnotherapy and NLP training company to choose.

What is included in the price?

The NLP and Hypnotherapy Training company I work with, who provide trainings throughout Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London offer a free event. This is particularly beneficial, as it gives you an opportunity to meet the team and the trainer. At the free event we offer hundreds of pounds discount off of our trainings. Inclusive of all of our trainings are study manuals and audio CD’s. The VAT is also already included in the price. This means that there are no extra costs when it is time to sign up.

Is it value for money?

People Building don’t offer cheap trainings, simply because the training we offer is of considerable value. If you pay cheap, you get cheap, it’s as simple as that. If you don’t believe me, just have a look at our course contents, listed on our website.

Are a variety of learning styles catered for?

Sadly the only way you can answer this question is by being there, on the training. That is, unless, they offer some sort of free taster event, where you can go along and find out, before parting with your hard earned cash.

Testimonials

Check their website. If there are not any testimonials there, will they provide you with some when you contact them? Testimonials from previous students are a great way of knowing what this training company is good at achieving.

Is the course accredited by relevant bodies?

This is important to check because individuals who have completed training may be registered as qualified therapists/ coaches etc, but this doesn’t mean that they are qualified to teach. In order to teach these subjects, the accrediting bodies, such as the BBNLP or GHR, must check that the course contents meet the training standards and that the teacher has completed a suitable training course which entitles them to teach the material.

Check that there will be coaches at training events and that they are qualified.Depending on the size of the groups being trained, it is vital that there are a number of qualified coaches who assist the trainer. This is vital because even the best trainer in the world cannot watch everyone practice all in one go.

If you are looking to do NLP or Hypnotherapy training courses in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire or London, then please do contact us and we will do our best to offer you further advise on how to find the best trainings available.

Welcome to People Building, a self development company dedicated to inspiring growth, progression and better results in your life. We have been fascinated by the mind, body and human behaviour for many years now. It’s our privilege to present to you NLP and Hypnosis training http://www.peoplebuilding.co.uk
